Bradfield School Gates
We were approached by the Old Boys society of this prestigious public school, in the heart of Berkshire, with a view to commissioning a large set of gates, to be presented, as a gift from the Old Boys to the school. Three designs were submitted to the society, after due consideration by committee, one chosen. The gates were set between an Arts & Crafts style block and new modern halls of residence. The geometric, combined with naturalistic elements were developed to marry these two contrasting architectural styles. The gates ran on rollers along steel tracks and opened against two sturdy hold-back posts, along the same theme, as they were to be open a lot of the time. The final touches of bold green for the gates with bright buttercup yellow flowers and ball bolts completed this uplifting piece of artistic ironwork.
